01 Manifesto
A building begins long before it is drawn. It begins as motion - a sound travelling through air, light crossing a room, water rising toward its crest.
Architecture is the art of holding that motion: fixing the wave at its most beautiful instant, so it can be lived inside.
We call this the frozen wave. Not stopped. Not silent. Held. A chord sustained in stone. Light, kept. A rhythm you can walk through.
We design the way composers shape time - measure by measure, rest by rest - until movement becomes form, and form becomes a place to belong.
02 The Practice
Frozen Wave is an architecture practice founded on a single conviction: that stillness is not the absence of movement, but its most considered form.
Our work spans private residences, cultural spaces and places of gathering - each one tuned like an instrument: proportioned for resonance, opened to light, built to weather time.
We work slowly, deliberately, and in close conversation with our clients. A wave can only be held once - it should be held at the right moment.
03 Method - Three Waves
Sound
ResonanceEvery room has a pitch. We tune proportion, volume and material for warmth - so voices carry without effort, pauses can breathe, and connections feel effortless.
Light
ArrivalWe choreograph its arrival - first light, half light, old light - so that every hour of the day has an identity of its own. After all, light shapes how we experience space.
Time
KeepingBuildings are slow instruments. We design for patina, weather and memory - spaces that do not resist time, but keep it, the way stone keeps a song.
04 Selected Works
05 Begin
Every project begins with a conversation about the moment you want to hold.
Tell us about your site, your light, your wave. We take on a small number of projects each year, chosen for the conversations they make possible.
